Temerloh town is rich with its tapestry of history. Besides, there were also quite a number of well-known figures born here who had made the nation proud. One of them was Datuk Bahaman, a great Malay warrior, famous for his bravery in defeating the British army during the British colonisation period in Pahang a long time ago. Apart from that, our very own Asia’s number one entertainer, the late Sudirman Haji Arshad and country’s singing sensation Datuk Siti Nurhaliza Taruddin were also born here. In addition, Dato’ Abdul Rahman Talib, former Education Minister who introduced the Rahman Talib Report in order to improve the Malaysian education system was born in Temerloh as well.

The high density of the villagers in Temerloh district has made the needs for health services increase as well. Previously, the villagers focused on Mentakab Hospital for treatment however after the construction of Hospital Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah (HoSHAS) on 15 January 2005, majority of them prefer to go to the new hospital for their health treatment. This hospital is equipped with various modern and sophisticated facilities. Began operation in March 2005, this hospital was officiated by Sultan Pahang Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Abu Bakar Ri’ayatuddin Al-Muadzam Shah on March 27 2006. |
