Kampung Telok Gong is a fishermen settlement situated near the shores of Malacca Straits. Its white sandy beaches are the main attraction for most visitors who want to have their picnics here during the weekend and school holidays. Besides, there are lots of chalets built along the beaches. As a move to attract more visitors to Teluk Gong, various types of chalets are available at reasonable prices.

The Persatuan Marhaban Kaum Wanita Kampung Telok Gong was established in 2003 and led by Kamariah Mohamad. This association is the most active in Kampung Telok Gong. Furthermore, this association was the Champion of Pertandingan Nasyid Peringkat Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN) Kuala Linggi in 2004 and also Champion of Pertandingan Marhaban and Tilawah Al-Quran Peringkat Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN) Kuala Linggi in 2005.

Socio-economic Entrepreneurship

As Kampung Teluk Gong is situated by shores of the Straits of Malacca, the fisheries industry is the main source of economy for the villagers. Most of them are fishermen and some are fish mongers at Kampung Telok Gong market. There are also fishermen who produce dried fish for sale to the local villagers and outsiders as well.

The entrepreneurship sector in this village is focused on the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) sector. Among the fast expanding enterprises in this village is the making of traditional food and a type of crackers known as ‘inang-inang’. These enterprises have been in operation for a long time and inherited by most of the Malaccan Malays. Furthermore, most of the products are home-based.
