Kuala Kubu Bharu like other places in this country owns its unique history together with its own folk tales. Supposedly, an English officer, Cecil Ranking’s conduct of shooting a white crocodile had caused the dam to be damaged and destroyed a major part of Kuala Kubu Bharu. This crocodile was believed to be the spirit of the dam and said to be sacred. It seemed that Cecil Ranking had gone to the dam in a boat and threw three sticks of dynamite to blast the crocodile. That was how the story goes and has become a part of the history of Kampung Kubu Bharu. Now, Kampung Kubu Bharu is gone through rapid development and there are a number of government as well as private institutions here.
