Johore’s pineapples are favoured by many due to its sweet taste. Most of the pineapples in market are Johore’s local pineapples. Kampung Sungai Linau is about 4,440 hectares wide. The area surrounding this village is full of pineapple plantations as well as oil palms. Although the pineapple plantation provides many job opportunities but they are not the kind of jobs that can attract the youth and younger generation. A majority of them prefer to migrate to cities and seek employment in either the government or private sectors.

History Youth

According to words of mouth, before Kampung Sungai Linau was discovered, there was a river called Sungai Linau whose banks were overgrown with Linau (lophopetalum javanica) trees. The river shared its border with Sungai Benut located about 10 kilometres from Simpang Renggam Town. The waters of Sungai Linau were said to be brownish, soil-like and its flow will meet with Sungai Benut at the confluence.

It was coined,” The youth is the nation’s catalyst.” This statement showed that the youth is an important group in a country’s development. In Kampung Sungai Linau, the human capital development was never ignored. Consequently, the village development and security committee (JKKK) formed Youth Bureau which among others played a part as youth guider or systematic facilitator. To strengthen that effort, Belia 4B Association was also established to schedule and arrange activities for them.
