Kompang is one of the traditional Malay musical instruments which belong to the group of drums. Normally played during weddings and celebrations, this musical instrument came from the Arab countries before it was brought to the Malay Peninsula by the Muslim Indian merchants during the era of the Malaccan Sultanate. Perusahaan Hamid Sekeluarga has started the business of kompang production since 15 years ago. Initially ran on small scale, the business has developed and create more job opportunity for the local residents. The making of kompang takes a lot of perseverance and skills. To produce a good quality kompang, the Halban wood or Vitex Pubescens is used. This traditional instrument is tagged at RM15.00 to RM40.00 depending on its size.

The popularity of durian in this area has inspired the state government to erect a giant durian replica to mark the identity of Jabi Sub-district. The rows of stalls selling durian especially during its season are crowd puller among eager tourists and visitors.
Jabi Sub- District is also famous for its orang bunian (spirit) myth which is said to inhabit the area of Jabi. Orang Bunian is similar to normal people only that they are not visible to the naked eyes and they are believed to possess supernatural powers.
