The beautifully arranged landscape along the main road is the brainchild of the villagers. This landscape is proof of the effective collective efforts among the villagers in decorating and beautifying village areas.

The name “Sagil” is believed to have originated from the Chinese word, “Sa’it” meaning Pasir Bahagia (Sand of Happiness). The Chinese community from the north of Johor started to explore Pekan Sagil area after the First World War and opened farms, planting tapioca and gambier in clusters.
