In the middle of the bustling city located a place of knowledge for the benefits of all the residents. With two blocks of buildings, the Public Library has made this place as its branch for delivering knowledge to the local people. Hence, the people here have an easy access to various informative and academic materials as the library is just around the corner.

As you step inside the library, you can see several rows of book shelves lining inside this library. At one corner you can see a number of children’s masterpieces from the colouring competitions. The calm and peaceful environment is definitely conducive for the youngsters from Jelatek to gain knowledge.



Youth Entrepreneurship
Persatuan Anak Seni Jelatek is a dance and dikir barat group which consist of youths and children. They are involved in the programmes and participated in the official functions organised by Non-Government Organization (NGO) as well as their own. The rates are dependent on their budget requirement. This group is led by the Head of Cultural Bureau of the people’s association; Rohani Abdullah. Kedai Capal Cap Kancil Emas is a shop selling unique traditional slippers. It is famous among the residents as well as buyers from all over including Sarawak and Singapore. This enterprise, based in Pasar Datuk Keramat for the past 45 years, is owned by Wahab Samaruddin and has been his main source of income.. Having inherited the business from his father and using his own capital, he can now feel proud seeing his slippers being worn by lots of people from all over places.
