Entrepreneurship is a new arena ventured by most of the FELDA Palong Timur settlers. This is an opportunity that will never be missed by Rahman Saidi who has ventured into it. He undertakes the production of salted duck eggs which he markets within the FELDA vicinity. The overwhelming demand from the local villagers has boosted his confidence to continue with ducks breeding in order to generate his income. Another villager, Mujihorno Badri operates a small-scale machete making business. He had been making machete for the last 15 years. He can make machete into different sizes and designs according to the customer’s request. Besides making machetes, Mujihorno also received orders for tapping knife from his customer.
Socio-economic Entrepreneurship

The residents of Felda Palong Timur’s economic sector are generated through the plantation sector, agricultural, livestock and Small and Medium Enterprise (SME). Almost 90 percent of the settlers here are involved in plantation activities such as oil palm plantation within the land schemes in order to support their family.

The existence of entrepreneurs who are previously settlers have proven that these FELDA Palong Timur settlers have their own initiative in increasing their incomes. There is a variety of businesses conducted by them from steel material making until food manufacturing industries. Hence, this is one of the best achievements for the community here.
