bu Hassan Ramli ventures into the farming of cross-breed chicken and broiler chicken at his friend’s suggestion two years ago. Initially, he only reared village chicken or ayam kampung on a small scale. Realising the potential of cross-breed chicken, he is determined to expand this business further.

Beginning from 200 cross-breed chickens with a capital of RM1, 000.00, the number of chicken has now increased to 1,000. The high market price of chicken which is about RM9.00 per kilogram enables him to gain handsome profit from the business. Claimed Abu Hassan, the meat of cross-breed chicken is softer than the meat of village chicken and it is a favourite among many customers especially the Chinese.

The sheds for these chickens are built far away from the settlements for the convenience of the residents. Cross-breed chicken must be reared around a hundred days before they can be sold to the middlemen who come to Kampung Batu Sawar themselves. The chickens will later be marketed around Temerloh, Maran, Jengka, Triang and Kuantan.
