Upon hearing the name of Assam Kumbang, not many people know its location except for the people of Johore. Only five kilometres from Batu Pahat town, Kampung Asam Kumbang is an urban fringe village which develops in tandem with the development of nearby towns.

Assam Kumbang which is situated in Johore is famous for its Javanese delicacy such as tempeh (fermented soybean cake). For tempeh lovers, they should take the opportunity to take home some tempeh. Meanwhile, in Kampung Asam Kumbang, you can get freshly packed tempeh with scrumptious taste as compared to other places which makes tempeh. Trader Faridah Endot’s tempeh is sold at a reasonable price, depending on sizes from as low as RM 0.15 for a small packet to RM 0.20 for a larger packet.

 
Entrepreneurship Youth
One of the sources of income for the entrepreneurs of Kampung Asam Kumbang is through the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME). Among the rising enterprises in Kampung Asam Kumbang is in the food manufacturing sector; the processing of soy beans into tempeh. Most of the tempeh entrepreneurs produce these soy bean products from their own houses.

The youth in Kampung Asam Kumbang are involved in a range of activities organised by the village security and development committee (JKKK) such as sports, cultural or religious activities. They have made these well-planned activities as the compulsory programme they have to participate.
